Rowan House is a large 4 star, self catering holiday cottage in the lovely village of Alton and Alton Towers, just south west of Ashbourne.
Rowan House sleeps 7 (+ 1 + cot). There are 4 bright bedrooms: master bedroom has large en-suite bathroom, another large bathroom and a downstairs loo and laundry/drying area.
The generous proportions and layout of Rowan House, its large organic cottage garden plus the surrounding activities and attractions, make this holiday accommodation ideal and extended families or those with teenagers who demand their own space! It is also perfect for 2 families with young children to holiday together. Many groups of people coming together for a ashared activity e.g. walkers, climbers, abseilers, eco hen parties, find the area and accommodation the perfect combination for their needs.
Guests at Rowan House can take advantage of the additional services of Simply Staffordshire to tailor their holiday in this unexploited area. There is an information pack (and maps) provided at the house if you would rather do your own thing, but to really get the most out of a limited break in the area, it can pay to consider some of the holidays ideas or that Simply Staffordshire can plan for you.

The sunny entrance porch, with plenty of room for muddy wellies, leads to a good sized, inviting hallway with lots of coat hooks. To the right is the dining room and sitting room.

Sitting Room
This south facing room is a particular joy, with gorgeous views over the organic garden and rolling countryside. The sitting room lends itself to the seasons, softly lit, cosy and warm in winter and bright and airy in the summer. You will also find TV, video, DVD, Freeview, CD and a selection of maps, books, kids videos and games.

The adjoining dining room, which has a charm of its own, can be separated from the sitting room by sliding doors. The room has a large pine table and dresser creating just the right atmosphere for leisurely breakfasts and long evenings of good food and company. There is a good selection of mats, table cloth, candles and a few kids toys.

The same south facing views can be seen from the kitchen window and can be accessed from the back door in the utility room. We have tried to think of everything you might need in this well equipped kitchen, including a decent chopping knife and a dishwasher! A good range of Ecover products are provided for your use.

This room, which can be accessed by the back door is particularly large and is just the place to peel off grubby outdoor gear. The room has masses of storage, drying rack, Belfast sink – perfect for country living and all that extra "stuff" we bring on holiday. There is also a downstairs loo next to the back door

All our bedding is 100% Egyptian cotton and luxury towels provided.
Bedroom 1
This is a large double, south facing room with gorgeous views and generous ensuite bathroom, which includes bath and electric shower. There's plenty of room for an additional bed or cot.

This is a simple, yet delightful south facing double room with same gorgeous views and plenty of storage and wardrobe space. This is not en suite.
Bedroom 3
This is a large twin room that looks over the roof tops towards the hills beyond. There is a 4ft bed and a single with room for a cot if needed.

This is a small, yet perfectly formed, single room that also looks over the rooftops and village of Alton. Used as an extra bed or as a games/reading room.

This south facing room comprises bath and power shower over. There is also an airing cupboard with spare towels and linen.
